PEOPLE across Ceredigion are being asked to support children play services at Bronglais Hospital by backing a new Christmas Appeal.
The Give a Gift Appeal to ensures that youngsters in hospital at Christmas time can still have a special time and organisers have launched a ‘wish list’ on the Amazon website where people who want to support the play services can buy gifts or toys ranging in price from £1 to £50.
The health board’s play specialists carry out a range of play activities with youngsters who are in hospital, with gifts providing an important way to provide a positive experience.
Sandra Jones, the play services manager, said: “This appeal is an amazing opportunity to highlight the role of the service we provide. These gifts will go towards making a stay in hospital as relaxing and comfortable as possible and will keep children amused and distract them from their illness and pain during their treatment.
“Sometimes children spend a long time in hospital and we try and ensure that things are as normal as possible with toys and familiar games that they would have at home. This appeal will help us provide the highest possible service and we are extremely thankful for each gift.”
