Hywel Dda Health Charities has funded child-friendly medical storybooks to help children feel less anxious about appointments and treatments.

The books explain medical procedures in a simple, visual way, helping children understand what will happen.

Roxanne Andrews, Paediatric Assistant Practitioner, said: “We’re very grateful that donations to Hywel Dda Health Charities have enabled us to purchase the informative reading books for our service.

“We now have two books in each county, giving our teams extra tools to help children and young people feel more comfortable and prepared before procedures and treatments.

“The books use clear pictures and simple language to explain medical procedures in a child-friendly way, helping to reduce anxiety and improve understanding for both children and their families.”
