Nine Covid-related deaths have been recorded in Wales today according to the latest figures, released this lunchtime.

2,297 new cases of coronavirus have been recorded across Wales today, with the national rate of infection now standing at 501.8 cases per 100,000 population.

41 new cases have been recorded in Ceredigion today, according to data released by Public Health Wales.

Carmarthenshire has recorded 202 new cases with 38 recorded in Pembrokeshire.

Powys has recorded 92 new cases and Gwynedd 86.

The Hywel Dda region of Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire, has now recorded 496 deaths related to the virus since the start of the pandemic.

Betsi Cadwaladr in North Wales has recorded 997 deaths, with 68 in the Powys Health Board region.

The nine new suspected Covid-19 deaths in Wales today take the total number of fatalities in the country since the start of the pandemic to 5,721.
