Data released by Public Health Wales this lunchtime shows that Gwynedd has recorded 12 new cases of coronavirus today, with 281 cases recorded across Wales.
Ceredigion has recorded one new case of the virus, with Pembrokeshire recording seven; Powys, six and Carmarthenshire, five.
No new deaths have been recorded in Wales today, leaving the total death toll nationwide at 5,575 since the start of the pandemic.
Data released by the Office of National Statistics has shown that Wales has not recorded a single Covid-19 related death in the last week for the first time since the pandemic began.
Responding to this news, Welsh Conservative shadow health minister and Montgomeryshire MS, Russell George, said: “After the tragedy and difficulties of the past year, this is fantastic news.
“Despite the presence of the Delta variant in Wales, these figures demonstrate the great success of the vaccination programme in protecting our people against life-threatening illness. The end is in sight, but it’s clear we will have to learn to live with the virus moving forward.”
