Wales has recorded over 1,100 new cases of coronavirus today, according to the latest figures.

One new death has been recorded in the Hywel Dda region of Ceredigion Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire, taking the total number of Covid-19-related deaths across Wales since the start of the pandemic to 5,616.

In total, 1,106 new cases of Covid-19 across the country over the weekend, according to figures released this lunchtime by Public Health Wales.

Today’s figures cover a 48-hour period up to 9am on Sunday.

Gwynedd has recorded 43 cases over the weekend with 19 in Ceredigion, 43 in Carmarthenshire and 25 in Pembrokeshire.

Powys has recorded 63 new cases of the virus over the 48-hour period.
