A FURTHER five deaths have been recorded in west Wales today with almost 8,000 new cases of Covid-19 recorded nationwide.

In total, 13 deaths with Covid-19 have been recorded in the Hywel Dda Health Board region of Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire in the last week.

645 deaths have been recorded in the Hywel Dda region since the start of the pandemic.

Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board in north Wales, has recorded seven deaths today, taking its weekly total number of fatalities to 10 with 1,142 deaths recorded since March 2020.

Across Wales today, 21 deaths have been recorded along with 7,915 new cases of Covid-19.

Gwynedd has recorded 213 new cases today, with 310 being recorded in Powys.

Carmarthenshire has recorded 369 new cases, with 102 in Pembrokeshire.

Ceredigion has recorded 25 new cases today.
