CEREDIGION has recorded five new cases of coronavirus today according to official statistics.

Across Wales, 141 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported today, but no new deaths have been recorded, leaving the total at 5,572 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

Ceredigion has recorded five cases today after recording none on Tuesday.

Elsewhere, Gwynedd, Pembrokeshire and Powys have all recorded three new cases each with two cases recorded in Carmarthenshire.

Conwy recorded the highest number of daily new cases with 24.

Blaenau Gwent and Merthyr Tydfil recorded no new cases today.

Public Health Wales say that the Delta variant – formerly known as the Indian variant – strain of coronavirus is now the dominant strain in Wales.

Wales’ First Minister Mark Drakeford is expected to give an update on lockdown restrictions on Friday.
