Over 1,000 new Covid-19 cases have been recorded across Wales, according to the latest figures released by Public Health Wales.

Today’s figures cover a 27-hour period due to technical issues in reporting on Wednesday.

A total of 1,030 new cases have been recorded across Wales with 19 in Ceredigion; 40 in Carmarthenshire; 40 in Pembrokeshire; 35 in Powys and 47 in Gwynedd.

No new deaths have been recorded however, leaving the number of fatalities from suspected Covid since the start of the pandemic at 5,632.

Latest figures from Hywel Dda Health Board show that nearly two thirds of people in Ceredigion are now fully vaccinated.

65.5 per cent of the county’s population has received both jabs, which equates to 47,647 appointments.

72 per cent of the county has received the first jab.
