HEALTH boards in mid Wales must keep working together to provide stable health services in the region, especially at Bronglais Hospital, Ceredigion’s AM has said.
Elin Jones said that while she was pleased with the progress made by the Mid Wales Health Collaborative, it was vital that partnership working between Hywel Dda, Betsi Cadwaladr and Powys health boards continued, to make improvements to services, including those at Bronglais.
She said that she wanted to see the Welsh Government continue to demand that the three boards all continue to play an active role in the collaborative.
After quizzing deputy health minister Vaughan Gething on the Welsh Government’s expectations of the collaborative, Ms Jones said she was happy that there was continuing support for the collaborative.
She said: “Following the work of the Mid Wales Collaborative closely, it’s clear that good work is being done to plan Bronglais’s future as a full general hospital serving a wide rural area. I’m also encouraged by the attitude of the Hywel Dda Health Board in this regard.
“However, it’s imperative to ensure that momentum isn’t lost. Key to this is making sure that all three health boards work together in pushing this work forward.
