A WELSH government minister has spent the day with residents with dementia on the Llyn Peninsula

The minister for social services and public health Rebecca Evans AM recently had a chance to see first-hand the variety of physical activities being offered through Gwynedd Council’s Healthy Lifestyles team.

As part of her visit, the AM visited a DementiaGo session at the Dwyfor Leisure Centre in Pwllheli.

These popular sessions, which are held at five of the council’s leisure centres, offer weekly physical activity classes for people living with dementia along with their caregivers.

The visit also provided an opportunity for Rebecca Evans AM to see the summer sports camp at the Arfon Leisure Centre, Caernarfon in action. It provides a range of activities from tennis and athletics to judo and swimming for primary school aged children throughout the summer school holidays.
