OPERATIONS at Bronglais Hospital have had to be postponed after an outbreak of flu.
Hospital general manager Hazel Davies said there had been cancellation of some operations.
But she said this week the situation was easing and that they were monitoring the situation with the spread of a flu bug.
She said: “We can confirm that some surgical activity has had to be postponed due to site pressures, however this is not unusual for any acute hospital dealing with unscheduled medical demand particularly at this time of the year.
“While the hospital has faced some capacity issues recently, it has recovered quickly in most instances, and is today (Monday) reporting a lower level of escalation.
“We presently also have one confirmed case of Flu A; Infection Control procedures are in place and the situation is being reviewed daily as a matter of routine.”
