In the 1 April edition of the Cambrian News you kindly drew your readers’ attention to the 88 mile walk I was planning in memory of my husband, Richard Edwards, and to raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity.

I have been so heartened by the huge support this article generated with contributions flooding in, together with letters sharing precious memories of Richard as a GP and friend.

The walk was completed successfully and I was supported every step of the way by kind friends. The total money raised now stands at £14,035, which is testimony to a huge respect for Richard but also to a collective determination to seek better treatment for this cruel disease that robbed us of a fine man far too early.

The large number of donators, many of them anonymous, make it impossible for me to thank everyone individually so I am grateful for this opportunity to very sincerely thank everyone through your letters page.

Diolch o galon.

Dana Edwards
