HOLLYWOOD star Rhys Ifans received a special welcome from pupils when they treated him to a selection of carol songs during a visit to Llanaelhearn School.

Rhys, who has appeared in blockbusters Notting Hill and The Amazing Spiderman, visited Llanaelhaearn School on Friday, 9 December.

The Welsh actor was in the area to launch the Ty Hwnt sculpture at Nant Gwrtheyrn.

Llanaelhaearn school teacher, Lowri Lloyd, said the children were thrilled to have the film star join them for the afternoon.

She said: “The visit was arranged through Dr Carl Clowes as he was visiting Nant Gwrtheyrn the same day.

“He was such a lovely man, he spent so much time talking to the children, answering their questions and then he was treated to a few carol songs which he really enjoyed!"
