A SUPPORTIVE housing association staff member who has “gone the extra mile” has been thanked for her services in helping a grieving widower.
CCG sheltered housing officer, Helen Charlton, from Dyffryn Ardudwy, was the recipient of a letter last week from a bereaved but grateful daughter-in-law who thanked Helen for looking after her father-in-law following the death of his wife.
Helen supports over 45 of CCG tenants at Hafan Deg Barmouth, Ffynhonnau Dolgellau and Pentreuchaf.
Tina Triggs, from Barmouth, wrote: “My father-in-law Mike lives at Hafan Deg and Helen has been a godsend to him and to us as a family.
“She has always been there to talk, help and support him with anything he has needed.
“When my mother-in-law passed away, Helen was there. She offered help and advice and reminded him of the good times. When Mike was ill, Helen was there, visiting him in hospital, chatting and helping. She has been absolutely amazing.
“Helen gives so much of her time and her life to all her residents and their families. I honestly believe that she deserves a medal for the amazing job she does.
“As a family, we are so incredibly grateful to her.”
A spokesperson for the housing association said: “We are very lucky to have staff who go the extra mile on a daily basis for our tenants.
“It’s always nice to receive your complements and thank you messages.”
