HUNDREDS of pounds have been raised in memory of a former Marine who died suddenly, aged just 44.

Dylan Dobson-Jones, who served with the Royal Marines, passed away on 3 August in Tremadog.

His family has set up a fundraising website in his memory which has already raised well over £800.

Money raised will go towards military charities Help for Heroes and Combat Stress, two “outstanding charities” that meant a lot to Dylan.

The veteran soldier was buried at Minffordd Cemetery yesterday, Wednesday, surrounded by friends and family who all wore bright colours in celebration of his life.

A former Royal Marine colleague Denny Denholm dedicated a fitness video to his lost friend.

Speaking before undertaking a push challenge, Mr Denholm said: “A couple of days ago I learned that one of my good friends Dylan Dobson-Jones has died.

“We don’t know the cause of his death but he’s been ill for a long time, and I’ve been gutted for days thinking about him.

“This one’s for you mate, RIP."

Dylan leaves behind his parents Malcolm and Dwynwen and his brother Sion.
