Creative workshops
COMMUNITY Music Wales creative workshops began on Monday, 29 February, with almost 100 residents participating in singing, drumming and natural sound sessions.Facilitated by the Welsh music charity, the free evenings are helping to raise awareness of the forthcoming annual ‘Celebration of our Brilliant Planet’. The workshops are funded by WWF Cymru, thanks to the support of players of People’s Postcode Lottery.The final round of workshops took place on Monday, 14 March, with a weekend class on Saturday, 12 March, where lanterns were made by hand, ready for use to light performances at Victoria Hall during Earth Hour itself.Hannah Jenkins, director of Community Music Wales, said: “The number of participants joining us in Lampeter is really phenomenal, and the workshops have been a great success with the tutors commenting on the standard and commitment of those involved.
