Large timber lorries will no longer be travelling through Llanddewi Brefi after the Cambrian News reported the concerns of residents last week.
Locals had claimed that the heavy vehicles - from Hereford-based Pontrilas Timber - had caused cracks in the walls of houses, gouged a telegraph pole and damaged an earth bank.
They also feared they represented a danger to children making their way to a nearby play area at Llanddewi Brefi Community Centre.
A meeting between various parties was held at the home of John Collins, who had reported the concerns of residents, on Thursday, 8 August.
It is hoped that an alternative route along forest roads can be used.
Among those who attended the meeting were Matthew Whitehead, of Pontrilas Timber; Phillip Morgan, from Illchester Estates, who manage the forest where trees are being felled; local county councillor Rhodri Evans and Cllr Manny Kincade, chairman of Llanddewi Brefi Community Council.
“They all agreed that the larger of the lorries that come through the village will stop as from today as they are just too big,” said Mr Collins afterwards.
“So hopefully the damage to my property will stop.
“Mr Morgan said that if permission was granted to allow lorries through Natural Resources Wales land there would be no log lorries coming through the village at all.
“Mr Whitehead said his company would prefer to use a network of forest roads which would mean less transportation on rural roads and around 40 minutes less drive time.
“We are hoping now that our MP Ben Lake can put pressure on NRW and the parties involved to come up with a solution to benefit us all.”
