Madam,

I was not surprised to read the story on the front page of Cambrian News, last week (‘Pet dog cuts open paw on broken bottles’). We removed several bags of litter from that path about nine years ago. We asked the council for collection of the bags, but sadly it didn’t happen. The neighbours were very unhappy at the bin bags we left there and we had to take all to the council tip ourselves. We think it may be a solution to make those who make the area so unsightly and dangerous do the job of clearing it themselves. It seems to us that a lesson is needed, or maybe they could do with a little education too, about the danger and harm to animals, wild and domesticated.

Yours etc
