Madam,
Could I make a response to the letter by Dyfed Edwards, Gwynedd Council’s Plaid Cymru leader (‘Nations together can achieve a greater sum of parts’, letters, 16 June)?
Mr Edwards, next time you plan more cuts, may I respectfully ask if the electorate could ‘embrace the opportunity’ and get co-operation from yourself to allow Gwynedd residents to attend council meetings and give their views.
This may be a huge ask, but it will prove that democracy works in Gwynedd and, as a consequence, the residents will have had a direct impact on any more austerity measures you consider implementing.
In turn, this will encourage a union of Gwynedd residents to collaborate in order to resolve huge issues which face us all in the county.
We will all then become part of a bigger picture in a new Gwynedd.
Yours etc
Olga J Thomas
Llanfair.
