THIS IS the time of year to start new things, and Llanddewi Brefi WI would like welcome new members to their meetings in the community centre at 7.30pm to share the new programme. Members of the new committee are Eirwen James, Kitty Jones and Alexandra Williams, Maureen Davies, Llinos Griffiths, Margaret Howells, Ann Jones, Elin Jones, Mary Pearce and Shelagh Yeomans.

The first meeting was held at Eglwys Dewi Sant with a service to celebrate Epiphany. Light refreshments followed and a collection was made to raise funds for flood victims. The next meeting will be an open meeting on Wednesday, 20 January, where non-members are invited for a brief talk on making Llanddewi Brefi a Dementia-Friendly Village. One of the villagers, Sally Corlett, will provide the expert advice. Everyone is invited, especially those who are in contact with the public on a regular basis. To promote eco-awareness, members will make Green Hearts for Valentine.
