Community council

THE COUNCIL met on 6 January to discuss the correspondence and concerns raised by the community.PCSO Chris Tipper was welcomed to the meeting. He reported on current issues that were being dealt with by the police in Llanrhystud and in the wider rural areas around Ceredigion. He said the county had acquired a mobile police station which will be parked in Llanrhystud on occasions for access to police services.Cllr John Evans represented the community council at a site meeting at Pencwm Mawr and had expressed the views of the council on the installation of wind turbines on the site. He reported that there had also been objections to the application from sev-eral members of the community who lived near the site. Notice was received of the planning application A151024 to amend a condi-tion on the original application that had been granted. This application was relating to plots 1 to 5 on the Maescarrog field, unfor-tunately due to the wrong information received from the planning department the council was unable to comment.Appeals for donations were received from Bobath Cymru, Air Ambulance Wales, Cylch Meithrin Glan y Môr, Ceredigion YFC, Llanrhystud Church, Llanddeiniol Community Association, Ysgol Myfenydd Eco Committee and Donald Morgan. It was decided to postpone the consideration of these so that any further requests from local community organisations can be added to the list for discussion at the February meeting. An interim budget was introduced and on its basis it was decided to ask for a precept of £8,500 – no increase on the last two years. Information was received of a meeting in Aberaeron Memorial Hall on 19 January to discuss the transformation of mental health services and the Ceredigion area meeting of One Voice Wales on 20 January at Aberaeron. Concerns were raised about blocked drains in Joppa and trees that needed cutting in Cwm Mabws – these concerns will be passed on to the county council. The next meeting will take place on 3 February at 7.30pm in the Memorial Hall.
