He is closely followed by team-mate Aled Jones with 14 wins from 15 frames. Completing the top six are, Wyn-nstay Llanbrynmair’s Edward Jones (12/13), Jeremy Andrews of Slaters (12/19) and Rugby Club C team-mates Kyli Williams and Phil Evans with 12 wins from 20 frames.
Bro Ddyfi Gardens
BRO DDYFI Gardens held its November meeting at the White Lion Hotel with Phil Wheeler in the chair.Members spent some time giv-ing consideration to funding and fundraising and, arising therefrom, organiser Kate Doubleday said that she would be happy to give talks to local groups and be involved in fundraising.All members present confirmed that they too would be happy to play their part in fundraising events.Initial arrangements were put in place to dredge the garden-pond and, weather permitting, this work would be carried out prior to Christmas.The committee extended a big thank you to all the volunteers for their sterling work in ensuring the garden’s fantastic success during the last 12 months, notably in achieving the prestigious Green Flag environmental status.Members next met on Tuesday, 29 December, at the White Lion Hotel once more.

THE TABERNACLE-BASED Machynlleth Book Club will be meeting on Friday, 8 January, from 2pm until 3.30pm, when the subject will be Robert Seethaler’s novel A Whole Life, which is set over decades in a remote mountain village.
Indoor Bowls Club
ALTHOUGH Bro Ddyfi Indoor Bowls Club have seen the win points elude them in their opening two games, they have still collected a total of eight points from oppo-nents Ffrith and Flintshire in the north Wales section of the Welsh Indoor Bowls Association’s Club Championship.

MACHYNLLETH Football Club’s free-scoring star forward Richie Evans held the top spot in the Spar Mid Wales League Division One goal scorers’ table prior to Boxing Day’s fixtures.Richie was rewarded for his phenomenal performances by being named the division’s player of the month for November.He received his award from the league chairman, Phil Woosnam, prior to the club’s recent home match with Aberaeron. Also present was captain Sion Jones.
