ABERYSTWYTH’S National Library of Wales is looking for volunteers to sit on the board of trustees.

There are currently vacancies for a vice-president and three trustees on the board, with Ken Skates, the Welsh Government Cabinet secretary for economy and infrastructure, saying the roles were important in helping to shape the library’s future.

The board sets strategic aims for the library and ensures that it upholds high standards of public accountability.

While the positions are voluntary and unpaid, the library will reimburse “reasonable expenses”.

Trustees must be available for a minimum of 12 days a year with the roles beginning from 1 December.

Mr Skates said: “We are looking for new and dynamic people to join the National Library’s Board, to reflect the diversity and interests of modern Wales.

"This is an excellent opportunity for people with passion and vision to join the board and help to lead and support the National Library of Wales."

Information and application forms for the positions are available at www.gov.wales/publicappointments or at www.llyw.cymru/penodiadaucyhoeddus with the closing date for applications being 23 September.
