Gwynedd Council has launched a fund to help the county’s businesses.
The Town Centre Property Improvement grant fund of £270,000 will offers grants up to £25,000 to businesses who want to develop plans for renovating or developing their property, as well as offering financial support to upgrade buildings within town centres.
The grant, funded through the Welsh Government’s Town Transformation Programme, is in addition to the Town Centre Loan package already available to town centre businesses in Gwynedd, and supports the council’s desire to regenerate town centres and support high street businesses.
Councillor Gareth Thomas, said: “The vibrancy and viability of town centres is key to Gwynedd’s economy. Thinking creatively, and responding to the real challenges facing businesses today, Gwynedd Council has developed a package that we are confident will offer support that businesses in our towns will benefit from.
“We recognise the challenges facing businesses and enterprises within town centres, and this has been highlighted during the Covid era. This support shows Gwynedd Council is committed to doing everything to support businesses and towns. It underlines the fact we are ready to take practical steps to create the best possible environment in which businesses can succeed.”
