Madam,
Councillors Mair Benjamin and Michael Chappell are quite clear on why they voted for the new Plas Morolwg development (Cambrian News, 2 November).
They say we have all been waiting a long time for the plans and, in Cllr Chappell’s case, because he did not “have the knowledge to make an objection”.
If the new Plas Morolwg goes ahead then I think it will be a monument to both town council expediency and Cllr Chappell’s ignorance.
Thanks, however, to all the town councillors who voted against this new design and let’s hope that the planning committee thinks the same.
We very much need new housing and an extra care facility (although maybe not the latter up a steep, windy hill) but surely not on this scale and density?
Yours etc,
R A Jones, Trefechan, Aberystwyth.
