Camera club

On Thursday evening, members of the camera club met in the historic town of Llanon, to capture images of the many and varied features to be found on and around the older buildings and gardens en route to the old ship-building village of Llansantffraed, where 55 ships were once built.

They then visited its Grade II listed, parish church, dedicated to St Ffraed, an Irish Saint, and Patron Saint of Dairy Workers, who is depicted in one of the beautiful stained-glass windows, holding a bowl of milk. The evening was rounded off with a welcome and unexpected sunset.

On Wednesday, 10 August, members will be attempting to photograph 24 hours in the life of New Quay on the day of its regatta.

At the next meeting, in the Memorial Hall, on Thursday 18 August, the club will analyse the results of the day’s images. This will be an ideal opportunity for prospective new members to see the work of the club.
