AN ABERYSTWYTH woman has raised nearly £3,000 for two local charities.
Nia Gore took on a 5 kilometre challenge in November, running the distance in 34 minutes, and raised £2,850 in the process.
Speaking following the run, Nia said: “I had never run until July 2020, after losing 5.5 stone, at time of run I have lost 6 stone in 18 months.
“Because of lockdown, it has not been possible to have a cheque presentation but the money was transferred straight away as all charities are struggling.”
The money has been split between Blood Bikes Wales (Aberystwyth) and Bronglais Chemotherapy unit.
This is just the latest charitable effort by Nia and her family who have to date raised £16,800 since 2016 for local good causes.
Nia added: “I would like to thank everyone that supported me again with this fundraiser for these worthy causes in Aberystwyth and surrounding areas. Diolch"
