Madam,
May I praise last week’s pertinent article by Alex Jones (‘Closing toilets won’t save any money in the long run’), in which Cllr Louise Hughes of Llanegryn expressed dismay at Gwynedd Council’s “hare-brained” plans.
Pwllheli is not amused by rumours of the imminent closure of our conveniently situated suite of public conveniences in Y Maes, the hub of our bustling town centre.
No Gwynedd Council committee would consider such an insane action, which would certainly not have been the recommendation of a top-notch team of expert consultants. Such advice can only have come from advi-sors specialising in cursory, drive-by, Friday afternoon surveys! Presumably these same desk-bound experts advise banning use of the “Croeso” signs. This bunch ought to get out more often. While hunched over their computers in Cardiff or some other far-flung location are they also proposing the appointment of tourism prevention officers in resorts and tourist destinations?
Why not go the whole hog and sack the Welsh Tourism and Culture Minister, Ken Skates?
Yours etc
E. Roberts
