We will not know for certain if Llanbedr bypass has been a success for villagers and village life for sometime after completion.
The evidence of other local bypasses does not give any confidence.
We can only hope that the councillors have carried out their duty of care with regard to traffic surveys, the safety of the design of the bypass and the effect on local wildlife such as the curlew and otter - and the total cost estimate standing presently at £20 million!
Harlech is fast becoming a ghost town with boarded up shops. Llanfair is no more, so let’s hope Llanbedr doesn’t go the same route!
