Back in the ’90s, I was appointed chairman of Ceredigion and Mid Wales NHS Trust. Maybe I was prejudiced, but I did feel then, and I do feel now, that ours was an excellent team.

Why was this the case?

Because, I believe, the staff were superb. They were hard-working, they were pleasant, and they dedicated themselves to the care and wellbeing of our patients. I should imagine that things are very similar now, although I expect few are left of that period.

So my particular thanks to the NHS at this moment is to the staff who are still working in Ceredigion. You are the best!
