NEWLY-REVEALED figures show that more than £854,000 of National Lottery funding was awarded across Ceredigion in the last year alone.

Seventy-eight Lottery grants were given out in Ceredigion during 2015, providing a vital boost to arts, sports and heritage projects alongside community groups helping those most in need.

A wide variety of local projects received National Lottery grants last year.

These included £3,510 to Taliesin After School Art and Craft Club in Machynlleth to pilot an after school club for under 16s, funding materials, sessional workers, refreshments, and publicity.

There was £1,500 to Aberystwyth and District Floral Society to organise a flower festival at the local Church to celebrate their 50th anniversary, funding materials for floral exhibits.

Also £4,986 went to Ceredigion Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution to produce a recipe book for the local community, funding the composition and printing of the recipe book, promotional materials, marketing, translation and administrative costs.
