CEREDIGION County Council have said they are “hopeful” works on Aberystwyth promenade’s storm-damaged paddling pool will be completed in time for the Bank Holiday weekend.
The popular paddling pool was filled with grit and the non-slip coating which lines the bottom of the pool was damaged following several particularly strong winter storms.
Work to repair the pool and replace the damaged blue lining was recently started by the council in the hope it could be completed in time for the Bank Holiday weekend.
But while remaining hopeful the work will be completed in time, the council said it needed three to four days of dry weather for the new coating to be applied.
A Ceredigion County Council spokesperson said: “The work that has commenced to the paddling pool is very weather-dependent and relies on three to four dry days to enable the new coating to be applied.
“It was hoped that the paddling pool would be ready for the Bank Holiday Weekend. We are still hopeful for this, however there are some external factors beyond the authority’s control which may cause a delay.”
