RECENTLY the Council held its AGM at the Ganolfan Matters discussed Pennal toilets we are still waiting to hear what their future is we are aware that 50 out of 73 toilets have been earmarked for closure in Gwynedd. The signs have now been erected for the bus stop and the ganolfan and the River Sychan. Thanks to Aled Rees. Benches have been purchased, one for Cwrt and the other to placed by Afon Gaer. Defibrillator Signs have been purchased by the council and erected outside the Kiosk where it has been placed. Repairing the Clock, a report was given by Mr Ramsbottom as to how the church is trying to raise funds to repair the clock a lengthy discussion took place with Mr Ramsbottom explaining the situation. The council agreed to support the Church on this project should they fail to reach their target of a £1,000 pounds. A request was made to have a bus timetable board in the village, council would look into this. Meeting closed with the chairman thanking the public for their attendance. Tainewyddion 40 mile per hour - Gwynedd County Council has been asked to monitor the road at this location. Planning Application NP5/75/242 -Outline planning to erect an affordable dwelling at Fflur Cwrt. Gelligen Fawr track - The track at Gelligen Fawr is causing great problems to land owners a letter received from Elsbeth Morgan land owner explained the dangers caused by 4x4 and the safety aspect to animals and the public, it is the land owner’s wish to down-grade the path to a Public Footpath Council supported the request. CCTV Cameras - The Governors of the school at Pennal have met and agreed to a camera be-ing placed on the school wall. Sustainable Management Group in Pennal - Lo-cal Young Farmers and the Community.A group of local farmers have been working hard in conjunction with Heather Mitchell to apply for a sum of money to improve the quality of land, rivers public footpaths planting trees and several other projects within the village, improve the quality of life to the public, wildlife and several environmental issues and the water quality within the River Sychan an initial cost of £3,600 is required to present the work done to apply for the expression of interest in the funding. The council have agreed to donate £500 towards this venture as it can benefit the public and the village of Pennal a lot council congratulated them on their hard work so far and wished them every success. The work would be undertaken over a period of five years if successful. River Sychan - Aled Rees reported that there was a need to do work by the steps leading down to the river at the Marian to stop the flooding at this point, this was agreed to by the council as owners of the land and would support the work financially. Sewerage works at Pennal - Concerns were raised that there was an increased number of rats that have appeared at this location the pest officer would be informed.It was with much disappointment that the community council were informed that Tywyn Town Council had arranged a meeting to discuss the plan of the new bridge with other, community councils within the area which had been invited to be present with the Engineers to discuss the plans and proposals of the new bridge at Pontardyfi but Pennal Community Council were not invited. Pennal councillors felt it would be in the best interest of the whole area and public that all councils should attempt to work together to get this right as there has been a wait for decades for a new bridge. Pennal is one of the nearest and most affected communities and local councillors were very disappointed not to have been contacted.
