Madam,
The figure of 5,000 translates into some 3.8 million women in the UK as a whole. It would have been unimaginable that such a large slice of the population could be cheated out of the state pensions that they had paid into all their working lives – if it weren’t true!
This is a ticking time bomb ignored by successive governments and it can be sidestepped no longer by those in charge. The women concerned are reeling from the shock of discovering that the state pension we paid into for decades is not there when we need it. Some of us are losing out on over £40,000!
Our shock is turning to anger and we will not take it lying down.
