A MEIRIONNYDD photographer has captured a prestigious award by snapping his local landscapes.
Tim Wilde of Wilde Photography Tywyn has achieved the highest distinction of winning a Gold Award in The Societies of Photographers Image of the month competition.
The winning image of Tywyn was in the Pictorial and Fine Art category.
The competition attracts in excess of 1,200 entries from around the world from some of the world’s most talented photographers.
Following this award Tim will also now be in the running for Photographer of the Year 2018 with the SWPP.
The Societies of Photographer (SWPP) is highly regarded as an international photographic organisation and its members, many of whom many are professional photographers, are dedicated to enhancing their skills in the art and craft of photography.
The SWPP has very demanding standards when judging photographic competitions.
The judging is undertaken by a panel of internationally recognised experts from a variety of photographic backgrounds, so this is an “achievement to be proud of and one which also photographically demonstrates the beauty of Wales and Tywyn on the international photographic scene,” explained Tim.
“I feel so proud that one of my images of Tywyn Beach has received a Gold Award in a competition that attracts entries from across the globe from some of the worlds most talented photographers. After winning many silver and bronze awards, this gold award is a very special achievement and now means I could win the coveted photographer of the year SWPP.
“This certainly puts Wales and Tywyn on the map for being a place where images of quality can be captured and compete with images taken at the highest international level in some of the world’s most beautiful locations.”
