WELSH speakers ran a relay through Montgomeryshire and Ceredigion last week carrying a baton to promote the Welsh language.
Participants in the second Ras yr Iaith passed through a total of 25 towns and villages all around Wales.
The baton, which was carved especially for the race, was passed from hand to hand, as runners showed their support for the language.
Individuals, families, businesses, clubs and schools were sponsored to run 1km carrying the baton.
Cllr Ellen ap Gwynn, Leader of Ceredigion County Council said it was an opportunity to bind communities together to promote and celebrate the Welsh language in a fun way that is open to everyone.
Sion Jobbins who has run in similar successful races for the Breton, Irish and Basque said it was time for Welsh lovers to come together and show a bit of fun for the language.
