A former police station in Tywyn could be turned into a funeral parlour.
The High Street nick was closed in 2016 after a joint £1.2m fire and police station was opened on the Pendre Enterprise Park.
Plans have now been submitted to Gwynedd Council which would see the local force’s old HQ turn into a funeral director’s business.
According to the planning application, submitted by Benjamin Thomas, the revamp would create three full time and five part time jobs.
While a change of use is required, the applicants say they do not plan to alter the internal layout.
Opening the new police and fire station in 2016, North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner, Arfon Jones, said that the new facility would mean “state of the art premises” for staff.
It’s expected that Gwynedd Council planners will discuss the application over the coming months.
