THREE new jobs could be created if plans for a new quad bike safari course at a Gwynedd activity park are given the green light.

Dragon Raiders Activity Park, based in Criccieth, has applied for planning permission to develop its existing land for the quad bike safari activity in addition to the existing segway, paintball and bushcraft activities.

According to the applicants, the development would create an extra three jobs at the park, but would not require any substantial development other than the new course being marked out on its existing land.

The park currently attracts around 17,000 visitors a year, with park bosses confident that it should be accessible by most people.

The design and access statement, accompanying the planning application, notes: “The quad bike safari will be using the same car park, reception, building and toilet, requiring nothing new to be built on site.

“The quads will create their own path through the designated route.

“We currently provide the paintball, segway and bushcraft activity to over 17,000 people per annum.

“Dragon Raiders Ltd has been operational for over 13 years and we have found that the activities we provide have been very popular by all ages, ethnicity and social groups.

“We currently employ 12 staff and the quad safari will create three new jobs, expanding our team to 15 staff.”

The authority’s own highways department has raised no objections against the plans, with Welsh Water also satisfied that the application poses no problems.
