Elin Jones – Assembly Member since 1999 – has been reselected to stand for Ceredigion in the National Assembly for Wales elections in 2021.
Over her time as AM, Ms Jones has been spokesperson for health, Minister for agriculture, and is now the Presiding Officer of the National Assembly.
Throughout many roles in the Welsh Government and the National Assembly, Ms Jones has remained an active constituency Assembly Member and meets with Ceredigion constituents weekly, supporting a wide range of campaigns and causes.
Upon being reselected, Ms Jones said: “Over my time being an Assembly Member for Ceredigion, I’ve been very proud of the achievements that have been accomplished both nationally and locally.
“Fighting for our Farmers, for our universities and for the development of our towns and rural economy have been hard-fought campaigns.
“Securing the future of Bronglais and the developments of our health services throughout Ceredigion have been particularly rewarding experiences. Everybody deserves the right to a high standard of health care close to home.
“There are still many campaigns to be fought, and I continue to push for Ceredigion to be prioritised in Welsh Government schemes, such as the rollout of Broadband and for infrastructure projects such as road improvements and the re-opening of rail lines.
“I would like to thank the members of Plaid Cymru in Ceredigion for placing their faith in me once again, and I look forward to putting my case for re-election forward to the people of Ceredigion in 2021.”
