A decision by Ceredigion’s cabinet to sell off a former care home to social landlords before trying the open market has been called in by councillors.
A special meeting of the corporate resources overview and scrutiny committee will be held on Monday, 16 March, to discuss the decision taken last month on the sale of Bodlondeb, Penparcau.
The call-in was requested by councillors Dai Mason, Lyndon Lloyd and John Adams-Lewis.
The decision taken on 25 February was to revoke a previous ruling to sell the site for use as a care home or for those with dementia or to social landlords.
A three-month deadline to find a new buyer for planning to use the site for social housing was approved.
If no buyer is found it can be sold on the open market with no preferred use and any capital receipt will be ring-fenced for investment in the capital programme for council-run residential homes.
Councillors will consider the decision at Penmorfa, Aberaeron on Monday, 16 March, 1,30pm.
