CEREDIGION MP Ben Lake can be seen on TV tonight being honoured in the Welsh Politician of the Year Awards 2017.
The hour-long special end-of-year edition of ITV Wales’ politics show Sharp End, presented by political reporter Owain Phillips, will be reviewing a momentous and turbulent year in Welsh politics with the General Election, Brexit and tragic events at the Welsh Assembly dominating the headlines.
The Politician to Watch award went to Mr Lake, who became Plaid MP for Ceredigion this year, aged just 24, making him the youngest MP in Wales.
The judges saluted the MP’s narrow and unexpected General Election victory in Ceredigion, a constituency where the quality of the candidate still makes a real difference to a party’s chances.
The AM of the Year went to Eluned Morgan. The judges recognised the Mid and West Wales AM’s campaigning on Brexit and her proposals to boost the economy of rural Wales and ensure that it doesn’t get left behind by the new city regions.
