OVER 800 Barmouth residents went to the polls to vote in two new town councillors.
A by-election was called following the resignation of former councillors John Sam Jones and Lark Davies.
The seats were won by Katie Price and Owain Pritchard, both well-know personalities in the town.
Cllr Pritchard won the lion’s share of the vote with 349 votes of a possible 846.
Cllr Price took the second seat, with 175 votes, narrowly beating Frederick Brooks on 154.
The remaining votes were shared out between candidates Graham Neil Hogg (82), Debbie Ball (47) and Trevor Parry (39).
The successful councillors will be sworn in on Tuesday, 22 Marc,h at the Barmouth Town Council meeting at the Dragon Theatre.
Cllr Pritchard has lived in Barmouth all his life, whereas Cllr Price moved to the area in 2008.
Cllr Price runs a guest house on Marine Parade with her husband and two children.
