People from Gwynedd have travelled to London to take part in “one of the greatest protests this country has ever seen”.

A coach picked people up in Dwyfor and Meirionnydd to take them to London to take part in ‘Let us be heard’, a march organised by the People’s Vote campaign on Saturday.

Martin Hughes from Porthmadog was one of those who went along.

Speaking to the Cambrian News about the day, he said: "The Dwyfor Meirionnydd coach was one of five coaches from north Wales taking over 250 people to London to join the People’s Vote March in London.

“Others made their way by train and other means.

“People from right across Wales gathered at the Bomber Command Memorial in Green Park next to Hyde Park Corner, where they were addressed by Geraint Talfan Davies, Chair of Wales for Europe.”

The north Wales contingent joined hundreds of thousands of others in London.

Mr Hughes, who is a founding member of North Wales for Europe said: “We travelled from Stanmore station into central London on the Jubilee Line to Green Park station, during which it was announced that Green Park station was closed to due to the crowds and then that it had reopened and then again closed and reopened.”

Mr Hughes said the group listened to a series of speeches once they had arrived at Hyde Park corner.

“Among the many speakers, was our own Silas Jones, leader of north Wales for Europe,” he said.
