A GROUP of local residents are taking to the streets in the run-up to the EU referendum to campaign that Wales should remain part of the European Union.
With the referendum on the UK’s membership of the European Union to be held on 23 June, a group has formed in Porthmadog to help campaign for the ‘in’ vote.
Nia Jeffreys, of Porthmadog, said: “We have been campaigning on the streets of Porthmadog for the last couple of weeks on a Saturday and we will continue to do this in the run-up to the election.
“We have had lots of people come up to us for more information on the EU referendum and explaining to them why it’s best for Wales to stay part of the European Union.
“We have leaflets available for anyone who still needs more information in the run-up to the election.”
