CEREDIGION taxpayers have now forked out at least £2,600,000 for the services of Pricewaterhouse Coopers, the Cambrian News believes.

Over an 18-month period between January 2015 and June 2016, Ceredigion County Council employed the controversial financial consultants to recommend cuts to services.

But after the Cambrian News revealed last September, three months after the end of the contract period, that the council had paid PwC £2m for its ‘risk and reward’ partnership, the contract value has risen by more than £600,000, according to documents seen by the Cambrian News.

The Information Commissioner found in the council’s favour in March after the Cambrian News complained about the council’s refusal to reveal details of its payment arrangements with PwC, including the percentage it would claw back from savings made based on its advice.
