Aberystwyth and Cardigan town councils have backed Welsh Independence this week.
Votes in Aberystwyth on Monday and Cardigan on Tuesday saw the two Plaid Cymru-dominated councils pass motions supporting Wales breaking away from the UK.
The vote in Cardigan was passed unanimously, while several Aberystwyth councillors voted against backing the motion.
The pair become the third and fourth major towns in Wales to back an independent Wales.
Llandysiliogogogo community council was the first to back independence in Ceredigion at its meeting in July.
As reported in the Cambrian News in May, Machynlleth Town Council was the first such council in the country to back an independence motion.
Yes Cymru, a cross party independence group, gave “huge congratulations” on social media to Aberystwyth following its vote, and, after Cardigan’s vote last night said “welcome to the club” to the town.
