Coed y Bont Work Party

ON Saturday, 30 July, it’s going to be the first of a three part extravaganza led by Liz Snell.

At 9am she will be opening the moth traps for you to see how many different species, large and small, live and flutter around the woodland. You’ll be amazed.

Next, at 10am comes a demonstration of mist-netting the woodland birdlife. See the birds up close and whether they have been caught before, ringed, weighed and then set free again. It’s fascinating.

Third, at 11am is to look for damsel flies and dragon flies which are hovering and flying around the ponds. Liz will give you all the details you need on each activity.

If you can, please bring binoculars, a camera and magnifier, also insect repellent, a hat and sun cream if needed. Small donations are welcome, but not compulsory.

Parc Angharad

THERE will be a meeting for Cymdeithas Chwaraeon Ystrad Fflur on Wednesday, 27 July at 7.30pm in the Library of Pantyfedwen Hall.

The meeting is to make plans for a multi-sports day to be held in September. All ideas and suggestions welcome. Come along to support your local group.
