Dog fouling survey
RESIDENTS and businesses in the county are being urged to give their views about dog fouling as part of a survey by Powys Council.The council has launched the survey to find out how big an issue dog fouling is in communities and if there are particular hotspots where people allow their dogs to foul.The survey can be found by visiting www.powys.gov.uk/consultation, with hard copies will be available from coun-cil libraries next week. The survey closes on Sunday, 31 January.Cllr John Powell, Cabinet Member for Environmental Protection, said: “The majority of dog owners being responsible and picking up after their pet, dog fouling remains an unpleasant issue for communities as it effects everyone, whether you are a dog owner or not.“We are determined to tackle this issue but we can’t do this alone. Residents and businesses can play a vital role in helping combat this in Powys and one of the ways they can help is by taking part in this survey.”
Budget meeting
BUSINESS ratepayers in Powys are being invited to a meeting to learn about Powys Council’s budget plans.The businesses are being invited to the public meeting at County Hall, Llandrindod Wells on Tuesday, 19 January, starting at 6.30pm.Open to all business, the meeting will give them an opportunity to find out about the council’s expenditure plans for the next three financial years — the council adopted a three-year plan in 2015.Cabinet Member for Finance, Cllr Wynne Jones said: “The meeting will give local businesses and organisations such as chambers of commerce, chambers of trade, local representatives of the Confederation of British Industry and the Institute of Directors the opportunity to question about the council’s budget plans for the coming financial years.”
