Keep Wales Tidy has unveiled this year’s Green Flag Award winners – the international mark of a quality park or green space, including a community garden in Pwllheli.
Two-hundred-and-twenty-one parks and green spaces have met the high standards needed to receive the coveted Green Flag Award and Green Flag Community Award.
They include a diverse range of sites, from urban parks and housing estates, to university campuses and farms.
Dwyfor Gardening Project is one of five projects to receive a community award from Keep Wales Tidy.
The others are Gardd Gymunedol at Hafan De, Incredible Edible in Porthmadog, Cae Bryn Coed and Parc Blaenau Ffestiniog.
Ynys-y-Maengwyn, run by Tywyn Town Council and Padarn Country Park, a Gwynedd Council scheme, both picked up full awards for 2019.
The flag will be flying at Dwyfor Gardening Project, Pwllheli in recognition of their excellent facilities and commitment to delivering great quality green space.
Terry Williams, exercise referral co-ordinator at Dwyfor Gardening Project, said: “We are delighted to be given the Green Flag Award here at Dwyfor Gardening Project, Pwllheli. This is a testament of the efforts of the volunteers, who work tirelessly to maintain the high standards demanded by the Green Flag Award.”
