THREE Lampeter school children have set off on the adventure of a lifetime after being selected to take part in a trip to Patagonia.
Morgan Lewis, Cadi Beaufort Jones and Nest Jenkins from Ysgol Bro Pedr, will join 16 other members of Welsh youth organisation Urdd Gobaith Cymru to embark on an unforgettable trip to Patagonia.
The young people, who are all aged between 16 and 18, come from all over Wales will follow in the footsteps of around 200 other youngsters who have been lucky enough to have gone on trips to the ‘Wladfa’ with the Urdd since 2008.
The group (pictured) will spend two weeks following a programme of special activities which have been organised before hand. They will visit the Andes, the National Park (Parque Patagonia), Porth Madryn and Buenos Aires.
In addition, they will spend time with local people of all ages, from elderly groups to young people and children in schools and colleges, they’ll get to taste some Asado, host some concerts, ‘Cymanfa Ganu’ (singing festival) and a ‘Noson Lawen’ (entertainment evening), as well as compete in the Chubut Eisteddfod as individuals and as a choir.
